Best Dressed Celebs of 2022

Tara Sutaria for Kalki Fashions

we’re showcasing the hottest looks that our Bollywood heart throbs rocked throughout 2022

2022 saw a massive 70% increase in Indian retail sales, with thanks to the most weddings in the last 40 years

from designer photoshoots to wedding guest looks - there are many forgotten gems and 2023 inspo for another year of endless weddings!

2022 BEST DRESSED: NORA FATEHI

one of the hardest working women in 2022, from endless promotions of her upcoming films or music video appearances, to performing at the FIFA world cup, and all across the world in sold out shows - Nora’s style throughout 2022 has been immaculate, working with many different worldwide designers

Nora’s colour palette on the whole has been soft neutral tones of whites, soft pinks and mauves, with hints of browns - which works so well for many skin tones, and it’s a colour trend we’re going to see more of in 2023

our favourite: the first bustier floral lehenga by Tarun Tahiliani

STYLE TREND: INDO WESTERN SETS

crop top / palazzo trousers have been coming more and more into fashion over the last three years via designers like Arpita Mehta, mainly for daytime occasions like Mehndi parties

but the evolution of these sets from Manish Malhotra or Faraz Manan can give you pieces you can further restyle with Western clothing, for many more events

our favourite: Madhuri Dixit Nene in Ridhima Bhasin - a bralet, jacket and palazzo trouser that can all be broken up and worn in many other ways

COLOUR TREND: IVORY

while this may not be the easiest colour to wear at functions that involve flavourful Indian food, ivory is a timeless classic that complements all skin tones - and even in it’s most minimal form, it looks super elegant

while saree’s were the standout clothing item worn in ivory, the combination of antique golds or cutwork details give the traditional look a modern revival, making it the perfect cross-generational piece

our favourite: Vaani Kapoor in Rohit Bal, with lace cutwork drape details

2022 COUPLES

the ivory trend continues with co-ordinating Bridal and Groom looks, with many couples opting for dual ivory and cream tones, a generational shift that we’ll continue to see for years to come

powerhouse designers Arpita Mehta & Kunal Rawal became one in a grand gold & ivory themed wedding

two of the biggest names in Bollywood, Ranbir & Alia, tied the knot in an intimate home ceremony

SAREE, NOT SORRY

the heritage classic that keeps on giving - with 2022’s haute focus on the saree being rich organza embellishments and sequin fantasies, driven by our favourite designer Sabyasachi - but it’s Athiya’s electric blue saree that captures our eye and looks so fresh, clean and timeless, designed by Manish Malhotra

MENS TREND: COOL JACKETS

plain tux jackets or suits just don’t cut it anymore when it comes to looking 10/10 for any event, it’s time to elevate your style with velvet embellishments, funky bow ties and revived bandhgala jodhpuri shapes
